This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect, how we use (and don’t use!) the information, and with whom we share it.  We also describe, among other things, the measures we take to protect the security of the information you share with us and how you can contact us about our privacy practices.  We recognize that we must maintain and use your personal information responsibly.

Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with a great experience with us as we discuss the goods and services that we offer, especially our involvement in the possible development of additional living space on your property.

Apart from the extraordinary circumstance of a sale of our entire company, Backyard Blueprint will never rent or sell Your PERSONAL INFORMATION.  We believe that nothing is more important in any relationship than trust.  Whether you ultimately decide to work with us for your ADU build or pursue a different direction, our commitment to earning and retaining your trust is our top priority.

How We DO Use the Information We Collect

We use the personal information you provide to us in several ways.  Some examples follow:

• Provide products or services you request;

• Respond to your questions and comments and provide customer support;

• Communicate with you about our products, services, offers, events, and promotions, and offer you products and services we believe may be of interest to you;

• Enable you to communicate with us through our blogs, social networks, and other interactive media;

• Manage your participation in our events or other promotions;

• Tailor our products and services to suit your personal interests and the manner in which visitors use our sites, applications, and social media assets;

We do not disclose personal information about you, except as expressly described in this Privacy Policy.  As we’ve stated above, Backyard Blueprint will never rent or sell your personal information. This is important enough to us to restate it again for the record.

We may share the personal information we collect with our vendors, subcontractors, and business partners, and other third parties who provide services to us.  However, they are only permitted to access your information in connection with performing such services for you under the terms of their relationship with us. They are not authorized by us to use the information for their own benefit. We do not share your information with third parties for their use in any direct marketing efforts.

We also may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order), (ii) in response to a request by law enforcement authorities, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal or fraudulent activity.

Links to Other Websites; Social Media

Our websites may include links to other, unaffiliated sites.  Those websites will have their own privacy policies that you may wish to review. We have no responsibility for such linked websites or any use of those sites or those sites’ privacy practices.  Our sites may contain links to our presence on various social media platforms.  As we do not operate or control such platforms, this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use do not apply to your use of such platforms.  In addition, you should be aware that personal information which you voluntarily include and transmit online in a publicly accessible blog, social network or other social media platform may be viewed and used by others. We are unable to control such uses of your personal information, and by using such services you assume the risk that the personal information provided by you may be viewed and used by third parties.

We strongly encourage you to be mindful of any information that you share on social media, including on Backyard Blueprint advertisements or social media posts. While we do engage in public discussions on our social media sites, we will never ask questions that would encourage any user to disclose personally identifying information on any public page.

Unsubscribing from Backyard Blueprint Emails and Texts

You can unsubscribe from receiving Backyard Blueprint emails at any time. You can unsubscribe by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of any email and following the instructions. You may unsubscribe from receiving Backyard Blueprint text messages by replying to any message with STOP.

How We Protect Personal Information

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to assist us in protecting the personal information we collect against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. We strictly limit access to personal information about you to employees or service providers who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that personal information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

While we implement these and other security measures with our systems and on our sites, please note that 100% security is not always possible.  We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place to safeguard personal information will never be defeated or fail, or that those measures will always be sufficient or effective.  You play a role in protecting your information as well.

Children’s Privacy

We are concerned about the privacy of young children.  Accordingly, we do not direct our websites to children under the age of eighteen.  If we learn that a user is under eighteen years of age, we will promptly and completely delete any personal information that the individual has provided to us.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices. We will post a notice on our websites to notify you of any significant changes to our Privacy Policy and indicate the last updated date at the bottom of the Privacy Policy.
